Amanda

Karen

Amanda is the daughter of Dawn, the owner. She recently got married and had to move to Jacksonville, Arkansas with her husband. She is still an active partner in the business so comes home every couple of months to groom customers that specially ask for her. Amanda can also groom cats. She has been grooming for 3 years and learned her trade with hands on experience. She is very creative and intuitive as to how a customer wants their pet to look. She can do simple Pet Grooms, some Show Cuts and Specializes in Standard Poodles. To keep up with her trade, Amanda visits as many trade conventions as possible. Were you talk trade with many experienced speakers and lecturers in hopes of gathering what is now and exciting in the world of grooming. She then takes that information and applies it to her business.
Amanda and her mother, Dawn, breed Standard Poodles and Golden doodles. She has 3 of her beloved pets with her in Arkansas and 2 more on the way. Amanda and her husband are expected to come home for good in about 5 years. She will then solely manage Camp Canine’s grooming cliental and co-manage the boarding with mom.

Karen was born in Mount Washington, Kentucky just east of Louisville. She started working at a dog kennel/grooming facility as a kennel girl/dog bather when she was fifteen, as her first job. When her boss saw her interest and enthusiasm she decided to teach me how to groom. Karen graduated from high school and moved to Northern Kentucky in order to attend Northern Kentucky University to pursue a career in nursing. Every summer and winter break she would return home to the same job. Karen’s sophomore year she decided that she missed grooming animals full time and wanted to find a job somewhere local. Although she is still enrolled at NKU and taking classes full time for nursing she still works at Camp Canine as a groomer. Karen has been with Camp Canine since February of 2007 and she couldn’t be happier. She truly loves what she does and it shows.

Why dog grooming is more costly then your average beauty salon?
• Grooming covers the whole body not just your head
• Most salons don’t require that you use a muzzle
• Most of the time your hair dresser doesn't take a shower at the same time as giving you a shampoo
• Do you have fleas or ticks?
• Does your hairdresser lick, bite or drool?
• Most people do not require de-matting?
• Have you grown hair in your ear canal that requires removal?
• When was the last time you relieved yourself on their chairs?

Special Services: Lo-Shed Treatment
This guarantees that you pet will shed about 90% less.

We start by brushing your pet out before bathing. Once in the tub we will shampoo and then condition your pet. To help moisturize your pet’s hair and skin we let the conditioner soak for up to ten minutes. We will brush the conditioner through the hair while it soaks which helps to loosen any tangles and will also aid in getting out excess undercoat. After rinsing and drying we brush out your pet until we can easily run a comb through his/her hair. We finish by using a Furminator on your pet to get out undercoat and dead hair. You may have seen advertisements for the Furminator and let us assure you it is as amazing as they say.
The lo-shed treatment does not guarantee no shedding, but you will see a dramatic difference. For best results the lo-shed treatment should be done every 4-6 weeks. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
